While no modifications are required, we recommend upgrading the following components (in order): Intercooler, Intake, Downpipes, Transmission, Fuel System, Turbos.
Please see the ZFGR Recommended section for detailed information about how these components impact performance and why we recommend them.
You can purchase a combination of these items at a discounted rate with our Parts Package Discount. Our Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 packages also offer a logical and progressive build. When following the sequence of staged packages, they include tuning and parts in order of recommendation.
Yes. The Terrain Management System will still function with both tune types (DMS and Standard). How the drive modes change will depend on which tune type you choose, and which tuning goal(s) you select.
Our Standard Tune will not calibrate individual drive modes. Instead, all drive modes will be adjusted equally, according to the tuning goal for the entire tune.
By contrast, our DMS Tune places a unique calibration in each Drive Mode. The DMS tune also allows you to leave drive modes stock, if desired.
Quick Start Guide:
Link ZFGR as your tuner on TDN App (code TFWP-6913).
Read the stock file to the TDN and submit a TDN Request for Stock Calibration in Tuning Central (Requires Order Number, Device Serial Number and VIN)
Once we process your TDN Request, a baseline tune will be added to the TDN and data logging instructions will be sent to you via email.
Complete the requested data log and sync it to the TDN, then submit another TDN Request for Data Log Review in Tuning Central.
Steps 3-4 repeat until your tune is complete (sync file, submit request, receive tune revision).
The easiest way to navigate the device setup and tuning process is to follow along with our Tuning Guide, which you can find in the Tuning Central portion of our website. You will use Tuning Central to submit your preferences and requests related to tuning, and a TDN Request is required each time you sync/upload a file for review in the TDN App.
The first TDN Request you submit will be for "Stock Calibration" (once you have an order number and have read your stock tune). This request will prompt you to select preferences for tuning and your initial tuning goals for each drive mode if you purchased a DMS Tune.
You can make additional changes/requests throughout the process and post-finalization by submitting TDN Requests. All TDN Requests go directly to our tuner. These requests serve as tickets in our tuning queue, and are answered in the order they were received. Please allow 2-5 business days for processing each TDN Request.
Our tunes include Launch Control. We offer an optional Trans Brake feature for completed tunes. We do not offer anti-lag.
We provide free tune revisions when you purchase parts directly from us. Otherwise, our tunes automatically adjust for basic bolt-ons like intercooler, intake, and downpipes. Although a tune update isn't necessary for these modifications, you have the option to buy one if desired. More advanced upgrades, such as fuel system and turbos, will require a tune update.
Tuning does not necessarily impact reliability. We generally write tunes aimed at balancing performance and reliability.
Since our tunes are custom, the specific requests and preferences you provide will be the determining factor. If you request a tune that prioritizes longevity and safety, then that's what you'll have. If you request a tune that pushes the limits of capability, then we'll discuss how (or if) that could work. Ultimately, it's up to you!
You have two options:
Flash back to your stock tune (file named "RESTORE" in the TDN App, is always accessible to you)
Purchase an Additional Tune - Most customers who travel often will purchase an additional tune for the Auto-Octane fuel type. Auto-Octane supports 87-93 Octane fuels, and will self-adjust for whatever is in the tank. Although you won't see the same gains as a 91 or 93 tune in terms of performance, you will maintain the other benefits of tuning such as refined throttle response, improved shift schedule, and increased drivability.
We recommend consulting with your warranty provider/servicer for warranty-related questions. Having any custom tune can provide the opportunity for denial of warranty claims. The extent to which a warranty is (or is not) affected depends on several factors. The specific policy, subject of claim, warranty company, etc., are all relevant considerations.
