Spark Plugs, Engine Oil, Fluids, Gauges, Tires, Wheels
The Basics:
There are an endless number of ways to use some parts. Most maintenance items like fluids and spark plugs will fall into this category.
Recommended Modifications & Tune-Related Impact:
Recommended vs Required:
We universally recommend the NGK 95605 (LTR7BHX) Spark Plug.
For most EcoBoost builds, we recommend a gap of 0.028
These upgrades are not required for tuning. However, it may be recommended to maximize gains, or for general benefit.
Most of these options will not require a tune update. Please be sure to read product information carefully and reach out to us if you have questions!
How it Works:
Fluids
Fluids are essential for the proper functioning and maintenance of any vehicle. They include engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid. Each type of fluid serves a specific purpose:
Engine Oil: Lubricates engine components, reduces friction, and helps dissipate heat.
Transmission Fluid: Lubricates and cools the transmission, ensuring smooth gear shifts.
Spark Plugs
Spark plugs are critical components in the ignition system of an internal combustion engine. They provide the spark that ignites the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, enabling the engine to produce power. Key aspects of spark plugs include:
Material: Common materials include copper, platinum, and iridium, with iridium being the most durable and efficient.
Heat Range: Indicates the spark plug's ability to dissipate heat. Choosing the correct heat range is crucial for optimal engine performance.
Gap: The distance between the center and ground electrode, which affects the spark plug's performance. Proper gapping ensures efficient combustion.
Gauges
Gauges provide critical information about the vehicle's operating conditions, helping drivers monitor and maintain optimal performance. We offer several digital gauge options such as the AEM and AutoMeter.
