< All FAQs Category: Modifications QUESTION Can I use FORscan once tuned? ANSWER Yes. FORScan changes and custom tuning operate independently, so changes made in one generally do not affect the other. FORScan modifications made before tuning will remain in place, and flashing a custom tune does not overwrite or undo those changes. Likewise, making FORScan changes after tuning does not require a re-tune. In rare cases, FORScan may report an OSID mismatch when connecting to a tuned vehicle for the first time. If this occurs, please review the troubleshooting tips provided on this page. After completing those steps, FORScan should connect normally whether the vehicle is running a stock calibration or a custom tune. TIPS 1. Flash Back to the Stock Calibration Temporarily This is the simplest and most reliable solution. Reinstall the stock calibration, restart FORScan, and create or save the vehicle profile. In most cases, this allows FORScan to identify the vehicle correctly and continue working even after the custom tune has been reapplied. 2. Check for Software Updates Make sure you are running the latest version of FORScan. Older software versions may not recognize newer operating systems or calibration strategies. 3. Locate the Factory PCM Part Number If prompted, the factory PCM part number can often be found directly on the PCM itself. < All FAQs Category: Modifications QUESTION Which GPF-compatible exhaust components are available for my 2025+ Explorer ST? ANSWER Certain 2025+ Explorer ST vehicles may be equipped with a Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF). To determine whether your vehicle has a GPF, please review the emissions sticker located under the hood. If "GPF" is listed on the emissions label, certain exhaust components or systems may not be compatible with your vehicle. At this time, ZFG Racing is not aware of any GPF-compatible aftermarket downpipes available for the 2025+ Explorer ST. If compatible options become available in the future, we will update our catalog accordingly. However, some cat-back exhaust options are now becoming available for GPF-equipped vehicles. Most notably, Thermal R&D has recently released GPF-compatible exhaust systems for applicable Explorer ST models. TIPS Please note that ZFG Racing does not provide guidance, support, tuning, calibration changes, or assistance related to the modification, removal, alteration, circumvention, or suppression of OEM-equipped GPF systems or any other emissions-related equipment. Before tuning with ZFG Racing, any previously used tune or tuning device must be completely disconnected from the vehicle. For most tuning platforms, this means more than simply restoring the stock calibration. The device must be fully removed or "unmarried" from the vehicle according to the manufacturer's instructions so that neither the tuning device nor the vehicle remains linked to the previous tune. If you are unsure whether a previous tuning device has been fully removed, please let us know which device was used and we will be glad to help determine the next steps.
