Velossa Tech Dual BIG MOUTH Ram Air Intake Snorkels
- Available in Quad ram and Dual ram configurations
- Features two separate and functional ram air inlet points with stylized inlet flares
How does it work?
Each ram air duct feeds high speed air to the cavity above the radiator support, which in turn feeds the intake cowl. This boosts mass air flow and reduces vacuum work. Increasing mass air and reducing vacuum work frees up power and boosts fuel economy. The faster the vehicle moves, the higher the air pressure that feeds the BIG MOUTH system & intake cowl, and the more performance you get.
Data
Data represented in inages was collected over months of testing. All tests were performed with isolation of the singular variable (with and without the ram air) and with utmost consistency of the test conditions.
Manufacturer's Product Description:
Introducing the Velossa Tech 2015-2017 Ford F-150 and 2017-2020 Ford F-150 Raptor Quad BIG MOUTH Ram Air Intake Snorkels, available in Quad ram (current listing) and Dual ram configurations.
The 2015-2017 Ford F-150 and 2017-2020 Ford F-150 Raptor BIG MOUTH Quad Ram Air features four separate and functional ram air inlet points with stylized inlet flares with full Color Chasing RGBW LEDs controlled via the BanlanX App or the supplied Bluetooth remote control (Dual kits include only the two larger primary ducts and controller). All wiring is supplied in the kit, and a color installation manual is downloadable from our Installation section (see below).

When people see that massive inlet flare through the grille, they'll know it's Velossa Tech!

Product Function & Benefits
Upgraded Intakes draw a larger volume of cool air from outside the engine bay than stock intakes. They are especially beneficial for turbocharged engines for two primary reasons: increased volume of air at intake and decreased intake air temperature.
Increased Volume of Air at Intake: The turbocharger's ability to "boost" is dependent on airflow from the intake. With increased air flow, the turbocharger can compress more air into the engine (if the air is cool). This results in higher boost pressure, enhancing power output and overall engine performance. A steady and ample supply of air to the turbocharger also allows it to spool up faster and deliver boost more quickly.
Decreased Intake Air Temperature: Turbochargers have to work harder to compress hot air than cold air. This impacts turbocharger efficiency. When intake air temperatures are lower, the turbocharger can compress more air into the engine, resulting in higher boost pressure and increased power output. High intake air temperatures can increase the risk of detonation (knocking), which can damage the engine. To prevent damage, the engine management system may reduce boost pressure or adjust the ignition timing, leading to a decrease in performance. This is called a "safety."
Tune-Related Impact & Tuner Recommendation
Recommended vs Required:
• Upgrading the intake(s) is not required for tuning. However, it is strongly recommended to maximize and increase gains.
• This modification will support gains from tuning and may be required for big / upgraded turbo builds.
• Upgraded intakes do not require a tune.
• Adding an intake to a tuned vehicle does not require a tune update.
On most platforms we support, there are two upgradable intake types: Cold Air and Ram Air. Initially, a Cold Air Intake will provide greater gains than a RAM Air Intake, but we recommend upgrading both if possible.
