Performance Benefits

Upgraded downpipes allow the turbocharger(s) to spool up faster and maintain more boost than stock downpipes, resulting in increased power output and better overall engine performance. This upgrade also improves throttle response, and provides a more responsive and powerful driving experience.

Enhanced Exhaust Flow and Reduced EGTs: 

High flow cats are designed to allow exhaust gases to pass from the engine and turbos more freely compared to stock catalytic converters, resulting in a reduction of backpressure and a reduction in exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs).

The use of mandrel bent tubing ensures smooth exhaust flow post-cat, which maintains reduced back pressure and exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) for optimal performance.

Better Flow = Faster Spool = More Boost:

Reduction of EGTs and decreased backpressure allows turbocharger(s) to operate more efficiently in terms of spool time and building boost.

Redesign Downpipe Upgrades:

SPD completely redesigned their downpipes to fix the vibration issues on cold starts, acceleration and deacceleration. The vibration happens between 1000-1400 rpms, which seems to be caused by the engine. Ford installed the flex sections about 2.5-3ft from the motor which causes that slight vibration from the engine to multiply in force down the downpipes and mid-section. A stiffer mid-section flex would only put a band-aid on this problem. SPD installed 6" flex sections right after the cats to absorb this vibration from the engine, eliminating all damages/fatigue on your exhaust components caused by the vibration.  

True Dual 3" is now possible! SPD's new downpipes with mid sections have removable factory 2.125" exhaust adapters. This will allow you to adapt your aftermarket cat-back exhaust systems for better flow and performance. 

All of SPD's catted downpipes use the highest grade EPA approved catalytic converters and larger 3" diameter mandrel bent tubing which improves throttle response, mileage and overall performance while reducing turbo lag and exhaust temperatures. SPD downpipes do not require custom tuning and can be used as a factory downpipe replacement. SPD catalytic convertors are made in the USA and are designed to be used in racing applications.
