Updates for ZFG Custom Tunes
Installing new parts or upgrades, and want to know if your Custom Tune needs updated? You're in the right place!
Each purchase of this item covers updates for one tune.
How to get your custom tune updated:
- After purchase, please submit a Tune Request (for Modify Existing Tune).
- Note: Syncing or reading new files is not required for this request - we will review and modify your existing completed tune(s).
- You'll receive an email with data logging instructions once your updated tune is ready to apply.
- If planning to install major upgrades such as fuel systems, injectors, or upgraded turbos, we strongly recommend purchasing and requesting your tune update up to two weeks in advance of expected completion.
Want to know if your upgrades require a tune update?
Whether or not you'll need a tune update depends on the parts being installed. Below is our general guidance by modification type.
Intercoolers or Charge Pipes: No tuning adjustments are required, and tune updates will not optimize the benefits of an upgraded intercooler.
Spark Plugs (OEM, Step Colder, or Different Gap): No tuning adjustments are required, and tuning does not change performance with step colder or different gap plugs.
Cold Air Intake or Ram Air Intake: ⚠️ While some intakes do not strictly require tuning adjustments, updating tunes for Cold-Air or Ram Air intakes may optimize performance and will ensure the accuracy of your tune. (E.g., tunes should be updated for FenFab V2 Intakes)
Turbo Inlet Tubes (Boost Tubes): ⚠️ These significantly affect airflow and tunes should be updated. (E.g., AMS Turbo Inlet Tubes, CVF Turbo Inlet Tubes)
Downpipes: ⚠️ While downpipes do not always require tuning adjustments, updating tunes after installation is recommended and ensures optimal results with aftermarket downpipes.
Blow-Off Valves (BOVs): For stock-turbo builds and most vehicles, no tune updates are required.
Upgraded Turbos or Fuel System Components:❗ ALWAYS require tune updates - We recommend that you purchase and request tune updates for these items up to two weeks in advance of any planned installations.
